After having spent a few years birding all over India, I was looking to travel internationally to a destination that was unique and different. When I came across the Svalbard trip from Kaadu Expeditions, it caught my interest since the price for this destination was significantly lower than any I had come across. Also the trip itinerary promised a more in depth exploration of this extreme landscape in the Arctic north. The entire booking process was a breeze, every detail was taken care of, with detailed instructions on what to carry. The ship we travelled on was very comfortable with knowledgeable guides on all aspects of the Arctic from ice to wildlife to history. We covered diverse landscapes either from ship, through landings and walks, or through cruises on zodiacs (smaller boats with 8-10 people). In terms of wildlife we saw all the mammals from Polar bears (9), Arctic fox, Reindeer, Seals, Walrus, Whales and most of the bird species seen in Svalbard. Also got to capture some stunning frames of the rugged landscapes. The food was extraordinary, the lodging comfortable, the transfers seamless. Finally the photography guidance on the field helped me try things I had not previously considered which led to even better results. I would highly recommend Kaadu Expeditions and already booked my next trips to Pantanal and Patagonia with them.
